#38. ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER WINE-TASTING, ANOTHER SHOPPING SPREE

by admin on February 10, 2011

so mr. noir and i trecked up to palo alto in my  mini-cooper (cream with black roof no stripes s version at the insistence of mr. noir) to taste gigondas at vvw and check out the merch at leaf and petal. the gigondas was good but not stellar, but the shopping was significant.

as usual, i was on a quest for just the right tunic to wear with leggings. and as usual, i did not find it. there were a few possibles. however, the most compelling piece was a wild japanesy sort of dress that was 75% off! how could i resisit?? l & p allowed me to dash next door wearing the dress to obtain mr. noir’s opinion without disrupting his wine-tasting. i knew he’d like it and he did.

how to describe the dress? a purplish charcoal grey. kind of sweat-shirt material but with spandex. hem to mid-calf with a string thing that can be adjusted. cowl neck. crazy tailoring at wrists. drapey in front and fitted in back. cool. eccentric. but not a tunic. i am starting to think the goddess of fashion (if there is one) is giving me a message (dresses). anyway, i bought it and thoroughly enjoyed wearing it the next day.

and speaking of wine, mr. n. and i enjoyed the most fabulous wine the other

LEAF AND PETAL dress

day: 1990 diamond red rock terrace cab. i am learning the art of putting words to taste and smell (which is surprisingly difficult, even for the hyper-verbal). this one was most certainly tobacco and tar with prunes on the back of the palette; the more certain i feel about the description, the better the wine tastes!

tunicless but happy,
