TREND: STREET FASHION AMONG ATHLETIC-WEAR DESIGNERS

by admin on November 16, 2011

pelage jacket

here’s an interesting development.  for several years, athletic wear has influenced street-wear (spandex in everything, yoga pants for casual wear, nike soles in cole-hahn shoes).  but now it seems that street-wear is popping up in lines such as patagonia, ibex, and the like.

esme was snooping around in the treadmill (our local athletic-wear store) trying to get a bead on things, when she noticed a striking woman of about her own age trying on a really cute little jacket.  it appeared to be a faux-fur with a swing-style in a creamy color.  the salesperson was explaining that these had sold out in the blink of an eye, and the customer was trying to decide whether the few remaining sizes available would work for her.

the jacket is made by patagonia and comes in “pearl,” “cardamom” and “feather grey”.  named the “pelage” (french for “fur”) jacket, it’s currently available on patagonia’s web-site.  in addition to being soft and attractive, it is billed as being water-repellent…what more could one want?  this jacket is on esme’s wish-list.  probably the cardamom, as she already has gray…..but maybe the pearl.  i do believe the attractive woman in the store bought 2!

feeling all warm and fuzzy,

esme
