CULLING ONE’S CLOSET, or SEPARATING THE SHEEP FROM THE GOATS, or SEPARATING THE WHEAT FROM THE CHAFF, or……you know what i mean!

too many clothes

esme and her sister roz have been emailing back and forth about family, fashion, and points north. both are contemplating culling their wardrobes for the new year, keeping only what they love and wear.

esme’s fashion bloggers recommend starting a good closet-cull with an inventory.  this involves taking out everything one owns, trying it all on, and in some cases, making photos.  sounds like terrific fun if done with a sister (if only esme and roz lived a bit closer) but quite daunting if done alone.  apparently there are even apps for taking fashion photos of one’s wardrobe!

imagine the treasures one might find hidden away!  think of the possible permutations and combinations of various sadly neglected garments! one might never need to go shopping again!  think of how cool it would be to have a photographic record of all one’s clothes!  omg, one’s granddaughters would love it!  and just imagine the bags and bags of stuff headed out the door for your favorite charity store!

in the meantime, esme and mr. noir have been sportshopping for houses.  they saw a fabulous one this weekend that was big enough for everyone in the family to have an entire bedroom as his or her closet!

closet inventories anyone?
